Save The Date – Technology Launch Week 2019
The countdown to lift off continues as Sun City Hilton Head draws closer to the major technology conversion of 2019.

 Plans are underway for Launch Week in January 2019, so
click here for your save-the-date! Print a copy of the flier and hang it on your fridge so you don’t forget to stop by! This will be your opportunity to get one-on-one help as you register for the new programs and services. You’ll also meet the Launch Crew, a team of Community Association staff, AAM staff and resident volunteers who will assist you through the changes. Attendees are also eligible to win great prizes!

Clubs, Groups and NRs: Save the Date for 2019 Meetings 
Chartered Clubs, Registered Community Groups and Neighborhood Representatives are asked to attend an orientation listed below to discuss the approved changes from the Lifestyles Task Force. Attendance at one of the orientations is mandatory. Officer breakout sessions will be included with the Chartered Club Officer Orientations. New documentation regarding Chartered Club rules and procedures will be distributed at the sessions.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Gift Drop-off
Thank you to everyone who participated in The Salvation Army Angel Tree program by choosing a wish list from the tree in Palmetto Commons. Please drop off your gifts by 1 p.m. at the latest tomorrow, Friday, December 14 at Palmetto Commons. Gifts should not be wrapped, but should be placed in a labeled gift bag or plastic bag.

New Extended Tennis Court Hours
New tennis court hours will take effect Friday, December 21 to add more court times for players. There will be limited access to Chelsea Reservation System Monday, December 17 and Tuesday, December 18. Call the Logo Building at (843) 705-4034 with any questions. Court times will be as follows:
 
7:30–9 a.m.
9–10 a.m.
10:30 a.m.–Noon
Noon–2 p.m.
2–3:30 p.m.
3:30–5 p.m.
5–6:30 p.m.
6:30–8 p.m.
8–9:30 p.m.

Bull Hill Gate Closure
The Bull Hill inbound gate only will be closed 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 19 as the new gate controller system is installed. Security will be manning the inbound gate.

Holiday Office Closures
Community Association offices will be closed Monday, December 24 and Tuesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas. Offices will close at noon, Monday, January 31 and will remain closed Tuesday, January 1 2019 in observance of New Year’s Day.

Guests with a guest ID will be free to Sun City fitness centers Saturday, December 22 through Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Hidden Cypress and Lakehouse fitness centers will be open 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, December 24 and closed Tuesday, December 25. Hidden Cypress and Lakehouse fitness centers will be open 6 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, December 31 and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019. There will be limited group exercise classes and no ICT on these days. The Logo Building will be closed Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1, 2019. The Logo Building will be open 7:15 a.m.-noon Monday, December 24 and Monday, December 31.
 
Holiday Communication Schedule
There will be some changes to the electronic newsletter schedule due to the holidays. Neighborhood News will be sent Monday, December 17 and City Life will be sent Tuesday, December 18 ahead of the Christmas holiday. There will be no Club and Group News on Wednesday, December 26. City Fit will be sent January 4, 2019.

New Cardio Equipment Displays
To enhance the resident workout experience, Lifefitness upgraded all displays on cardio equipment to offer more than 21 different workout programs to choose from! Information on the new displays is available at any fitness center and is very user friendly. Stop by any fitness center to check it out.

Daily Door Prizes at Palmetto Commons
Residents who visit Palmetto Commons on business through Monday, December 31 will be eligible to snag free Sun City swag! Residents will be asked to sign in at the front desk of Palmetto Commons. Each evening prior to the day of business, staff will choose eight numbers at random from the sign-in sheet. The winners will be notified immediately when they sign in and will get to draw for their prize they will receive.

New Year’s Health and Wellness Kickoff
Monday, January 7, 2019 at Magnolia Hall
Start your new year off right with a complimentary series featuring Len Kravitz, PhD, CSCS, an exercise science program coordinator and researcher at the University of New Mexico. There will be free food and an opportunity to “Ask the Doctor Your Questions.” Lectures will be at the following schedule:
9–10 a.m.: Exercise, Fat Loss and Weight Management: The Real Story
11 a.m.–Noon: 10 Key Rules for Longevity
2–3 p.m.: Exercise: The Ultimate Brain Booster and Stress Reducer

Sign Up for Choose to Lose (Formerly Mission: Slimpossible)
9–10 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays January 9–February 15
Choose to Lose debuts a new program style led by Holly Mlodzinski, a registered dietician with Hilton Head Hospital. Program topics include why diets don’t deliver, embracing health at every size, foods that support healthy aging and more. Learn functional moves to promote independence and strength on Fitness Fridays and enjoy group health discussions every Wednesday throughout the program. Prizes awarded! Participants enjoy a free pass for any group exercise class during the program. Cost is $125. Register at any fitness center before January 4, 2019.

Project Updates from Facilities Services and Common Area Maintenance
  • A portion of Tidewatch Drive in Riverbend will be closed for repairs on Wednesday, December 19. Residents can avoid this section of road by going around Cutter Circle.
  • Purrysburg Fitness Center and aerobics room are closed for renovations. The locker rooms and pools remain open. Click here for the latest group exercise class schedules. Hidden Cypress Golf Course and practice areas will remain open during future renovations at Hidden Cypress. 
  • The Woodshop entry to the Dog Park will be closed for maintenance through December 19. The softball field side entry to the Dog Park will be closed December 20–January 4.
  • Tennis court 1 at Town Square is closed for construction on new path areas and seating.

Club and Group Special Events
Save the Date for Roadrunners Wine Tasting and Charity Auction
The Sun City Roadrunners Motorcycle Club presents the second annual wine tasting, and silent and live auction 6:30–9:30 p.m. January 14, 2019 at the Pinckney Hall Ballroom. Admission is $10 per person. All proceeds benefit Bluffton Self Help and Maranatha Farm Animal Rescue.

SCCT Presents Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap
The Mousetrap is a tale of intrigue written by the world-famous Agatha Christie. Performances are 7 p.m. January 24, 25, 26 and 2:30 p.m. January 27 at Magnolia Hall. Tickets are $24.
